At long last, The Cry has found a home and will be distributed in the US by Monterey Media...so keep your eyes peeled for updates. (I'll include them on my site www.TheCryThe Movie.com as soon as I know the schedule for theatrical release.)
In the meanwhile, please keep emailing me with your La Llorona stories. Let's keep her alive!

Bernadine,
Your film spurred a memory for me that was very eerie. I lived in ABQ for a long time (was born there). In 1988 I went rafting, with an experienced guide and with my son and daughter on the stretch of river at Pilar. The guide had never had any problems but when we got to the area called "the toilet bowl" suddenly the raft was pulled between two boulders and it folded in half. I grabbed for my 8 year old son that was literally being sucked into the water and pulled him up with all my strength. There were 4 or 5 other people who all saw the way my son was being dragged into the water.
I read that the river at Pilar was part of the film and that a woman drowned her child there in the last few years. I wonder where that happened. Was it close to the area we were "attacked"? I'm a filmmaker now as well working on historical documentaries. It's fascinating to explore the parallels between the past and the "ghosts" people carry into the present, but your film made me consider an entirely new perspective regarding what may live on. Congratulations on your film.
