It just occurred to me that another similarity that the Jewish "Llorona," known as Lilith, has with the original ghost of La Llorona, personified as "La Malinche" is that both La Malinche and Lilith were considered a threat to men because of their strength and power. It is believed that this is part of the reason that both of these women were demonized.
What other Lloronas in other cultures have you heard of and how do they resemble our Latino ghost?
When I heard of the Lilith legend I automatically thought of La Llorona. Lilith is also a "banshee" and La Llorona is also sometimes seen as a banshee as she brings news of death to some.

They cannot be considered a threat because woman have no rights! in sad news, peter como is the latest victim of la llorona. while filming a jewish documentary about the mysteries of el chupacabra and la llorona, como was kidnapped. two weeks later, his body was recovered outside of a new mexico river with a bloody cross on it. hopefully, the christian god will save his soul.
